PROFESSOR ˇV Receiver Modulation
Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum
Audio Baseband

1. Overview:
PROFESSOR-Receiver Modulation(RM) CP3D-WL-2.4G-0011 is a direct sequence spread spectrum(DSSS) baseband receiver modulation which is suitable for the ISM-band wireless audio application. The PROFESSOR-RM integrates a microphone and speaker interface for wireless audio reception. In addition, the PROFESSOR-RM also provides the control of RF channel selection and calibration for RF carrier leakage in order to decrease the interference.

2. Key Feature
Provide direct sequence spread spectrum(DSSS) modulation
Provide audio receiving
Audio sampling rate is CD(44.1KHz) or DVD(48KHz) quality
Headphones output: Audio 20 Hz ~ 20 KHz
Data rate can be up to 2 Mbps(MCLK @ 44MHz)
Demand voltage: 3.5 ~ 4.2 V(DC)
Electricity: 240 ˇÓ 20 mA
Frequency band: 2.412 ~ 2.484 GHz
RM sensitivity: -85dBM, BER<1E-4
Eight channels are selectable

3. PIN Configuration

4. PIN Description

4.1 SCLK*, SDA*, NCS*

These 3-wires is for external MPU (Micro-Processing Unit) to control RF
channel frequency and other control functions. The timing diagram is shown
below. RM modules read data from SDA (Serial Data) pin as SCLK (Serial
Clock) is in raising edge state. Ts timing of SCLK must be longer than 1
microsecond. Td timing of SDA must be longer than 2 microseconds. SDA data
format is as the following 9-bits (MSB first) for accessing each parameter (e.g.,
ID) and its value: R/W, A3, A2, A1, A0, D3, D2, D1, D0

R/W bit: Read= 0, Write= 1

A3, A2, A1, A0 four bits: Register address, ˇ§0000ˇ¨ to select Channel Number, ˇ§0001ˇ¨ to select other control
... function.

D3, D2, D1, D0 four bits: Parameter value, ˇ§0000ˇ¨ to ˇ§0111ˇ¨ can be chosen when these four bits stand for
... Channel number (e.g., [A3, A2, A1, A0]= [0, 0, 0, 0].

4.2 Block Diagram about CH Control on Receiver (Auto Scanning)
CH value of receiver side is changed by the external MPU using an auto-scan function. MPU will check automatically the transmitterˇ¦s emitting channel.

5. Transmitted Spectrum
Fc = 2412, 2422, 2432, 2442, 2452, 2462, 2472(Europe), & 2484(Japan)

6. Caution
6.1
An additional 10 Łg/25V Capacitor Filter is necessarily added at the front end of AOR or AOL pin for filtering the noise.
6.2 An amplified speaker is necessary for the audio output of RM.
6.3 As illustrated in session 4-2, a MPU can be added externally to control the selection of channel.
